The CSGC reports that "of the ten countries sending the most missionaries in 2010, three were in the global South: Brazil, South Korea, and India." Other notable missionary senders included South Africa, the Philippines, Mexico, China, Colombia, and Nigeria.

Science Fiction Becomes Fact

Scientists Halt Light for One Minute.

(Which is impressive...but with all this knowledge can we halt the Kardasians somehow?)

Only Genetic Engineering Can Save Oranges

The disease called "citrus greening" is devastating the orange trees in my native Florida. Some people are worried about genetic engineering of plants, trees, etc. They shouldn't be. It may be the only way to keep orange juice on our breakfast tables.

Were Children Smarter a Century Ago?

Or were they just better educated?

A 1912 Kentucky tests prompts some tough questions.

First Detroit. Now...Chicago?

Chicago may be in big trouble.

It hasn’t all hit the fan quite yet, but Chicago seems perilously close to real trouble. The city is all out of money, and with an implodingpublic education system and harrowing levels of violence, it is losing residents fast.

Cities like Detroit and Chicago and states like Illinois will eventually have to shift away from blue policies whether they like them or not. When the money runs out, one of the luxuries you can no longer afford is self-deception.

Savior of the World

Proving that theological degrees are useless nowadays Susan Brooks Thistlethwaite states:  The life and teachings of Jesus, understood in their historical context, are about feeding the poor, housing the homeless, caring for the sick and loving the neighbor as yourself."

(What about that Savior of the World item? John said, "The reason the Son of God came was to destroy the Devil's work." Alas, perhaps John didn't know as much about the gospels as Ms. Thistlethwaite, although he actually wrote several of them.)

Well, It's About Time

The New Ultra-Tech Robots are coming...to mow your lawn.

(However, this may just be one step in their master scheme to CONQUER THE HUMAN RACE!)

The Government Even Subsidizes the Dead

The Agriculture Department might be sending millions of dollars in subsidies to dead farmers, the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office (GAO) said Monday.
